2nd partner meeting in Prague (CZ)

From 28 February to 01 March 2013 the project parnters met for their second partner meeting at the Academic Conference Centre in Prague (CZ). The international project “Men and Books: For a Risk Free Use of the European Written Cultural Heritage” formed the framework for the conference “Silesian Protestantism in the 16th to 19th centuries and its cultural heritage” which simlutaneously served as the project’s 2nd partner meeting.

The main aim of the conference was to present the findings of recent research on Silesian Protestantism and preservation of its cultural heritage and discuss these with the Czech and international academic public.

After an informal dinner for the project partners, the conference officially opnened on Friday morning. The first session focused on “Recent research on the history of Silesian Protestantism”, followed by “Swidnica in the history of Silesian Protestantism” and finally closed with a session on “Preservation of the cultural heritage”.

In the afternoon all participants had the chance to visit the beautiful treasures of the premonstratensian Strahov Library.

Thanks to our hosts and all the participating partners as well as conference participants this  meeting was a great success.
